For the first three people that reply to me and re-post this challenge - I will send you something that I think is rather smashing. It might be something I've made, like a mix CD (very likely), or something else like a rubber duck, a spoon (considerably less likely), a book I think you will enjoy, or something else entirely - whatever it is, it will be awesome. I promise that I will get it to you in 365 days or less. (I will need your snail mail if you want to participate.) The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first three to reply to this, AND post this very same thing on YOUR Livejournal - because what's more fun than giving people stuff? Nothing, that's what.

heh.. i just got glue all over my super sleek gaming mouse =\  mostly because my hands are covered in the stuff. all evening i've been working on a project that utilizes little strips of paper rolled up and glued to things. i'm having a lot of fun, but i'm a mess!

Things have been good lately. Kel and I just got back from New Mexico about a week ago. We got to visit our baby nieces and we gave them a ton of presents. We got our oldest niece (2 years) a monkey costume and our little baby niece (4 months) a tiger costume. I also made my niece a tutu (no sewing! which is awesome, cause i blow at sewing). I have a ton of pics of Emily running around as a monkey ballerina. pretty neat stuff =)

As soon as we got back from vacation, I was in panic mode of sorts... I had my first arts and crafts show last week. it was in a downtown area from 5 to 9 p.m. and it was a lot of fun. I met some cool artists and actually sold some stuff and made some moolah! Of course, I've already spent everything I made buying MORE stuff to make, but hey... i like to stay busy.

I've been learning how to bind books from this rad couple in tempe that run a paper studio. i love books, so being able to create them is something like what i imagine nirvana would be. y'know, to a heartless athiest like myself. i've been embracing that word lately - athiest, so weird. anyway, if you'd like to see some of my books, i have a few in my shop - www.devilsparadise.etsy.com

kel and i are also taking a graphic design class - right now we're learning how to use illustrator to make counterfeit money - i love higher education! you may think i'm kidding.. but i'm not! our prof is really into making fake "real" documents.

I'm also cramming to finish this year's halloween party, which i'm very proud to annouce is themed - 'murder at comic con!!' we're getting our nerd on and letting all of our friends finally break out the flash/captain kirk/hobbit/sailor moon costumes that have been collecting dust in their closets! We actually had to do a lot of rewrites today because we thought our characters were just too clean - so we added a lof of porn movies, sex tapes, male prostitution, gambling, con artistry, blackmail, drug use, illicit affairs, oh.. and murder!  /evil laugh

you know i'm not gonna post for another four months, so i gotta fit a lot into one entry.

word to your mothers.

I've been working on setting up an Etsy shop lately for these little wood and paper pendants I enjoy creating. Today I launched my shop with a dozen cute little pendants. I'm pretty excited =D

Here's the shop in case anyone is interested in checking it out:

Devil's Paradise

I know some of you guys are pretty familar with Etsy and I'd appreciate any feedback you've got!

Things are going good on the home front, been putting in lots of time at work and on the shop. Kel and I are pretty bummed we're not going to make San Diego this year. We're there next year for absolutely certain. In fact, if I even think about NOT going, please cut and paste this post and tell me to shut it! Of course this means EVERYONE else has to go next year too =)

Happy Easter!

Been working on the yard a lot lately. Reseeded the whole thing a couple weeks ago. Since then I've planted two blackberry bushes, an apricot tree a thompson seedless grapevine and a garden. In the garden I've got the roma and cherry tomatoes, green and yellow squash, cucumbers, green beans, lettuce, onions and bell peppers. My brother helped Kel and I till the garden and form the rows and stuff, he has a big mohawk right now, so I kept calling him an Xtreme Gardener all day. hehe.

I've been playing WoW a lot less and spending more time outside and it feels pretty good. I still like to get my game on, but I think I need to pull back from it a bit. I was playing way too much for a long time. I think being an officer in the guild and what not - I just ended up getting sucked too far into it. Lately, I feel like it's had all the drama from the old dragonrealms days. heh. dear simutronics: can i please have six years of my life back? thanks <3 dana.

I bought a litlte tripod and plan to photograph many things while using it! it's small, extending 6" to 14" so it should be perfect for macro shots. I'd like to get a big tripod and camera, so I can carry it around on my shoulder and look like I mean business. Right now tho, my little camera would look silly on a big tripod. Like something Rob Liefeld would draw.

Yesterday I did something I swore I'd never do and created a myspace page. Well, I created it a while back so I could look at pictures of kista's rad mowhawk - but i actually started formatting and adding content yesterday. So, lemme know if you have a page so I can friend you. I'll post my url when i decide on a name.

I'm thinking of opening an Etsy shop to sell my glass beads. I've been torchworking for less than a year, so I'm not great at it, but I think I've got some pretty cool stuff. Lately, I'm in to mixing glass to get unique colors. This is done by taking two glass rods, heating them up so they're molten, then squishing them together and pulling them into a new rod. I also made my first vessel the other day in the shape of a woman, also called a Venus bead/vessel. I need to keep practicing the sculptural stuff.

I've been pretty lucky to avoid any injury.. but a few weeks ago I had a crazy night. First, I shattered some glass... that's what happens when you put cold glass directly into a hot torch. kablooie. you're supposed to warm it up gradually before you start melting it. Anyway, i shattered some glass and some of it shot straight up my sleeve and stuck to my skin just below my elbow. Minor burn. Next I accidentally touched some molten glass with my right index finger. i burned my ridge detail clean off! it's starting to come back now tho, I think.  And in my last mishap for the night.. I'd be using this stuff called pixie dust. you roll molten glass in this mica-based powder and it gets all shimmery. I had an excess of powder on my glass tho, so I was using a damp paper towel to wipe it off and the paper towel caught fire! I didn't notice at first tho, until I smelled it burning, then i looked down and freaked out. heh.

If you haven't read the Losers - you should. I just finished the third trade paperback and it was super keen. Aisha is a bad ass fucking chick. I dunno who's more badass - Aisha or Michonne. Actually, I think right now I'd have to go with Michonne.

Looking back over this entry, I wish it were funnier. Like when JD posts, it's always something hilarious. Fuck you, Usagi!

My AIM died yesterday. Every time I tried to sign on I'm getting a message saying "AIM cannot connect to server" so I rebooted a couple of times and still no luck. This morning it's doing the same thing, so I upgraded to the newest, crappy version of AIM and STILL no luck. So I tried using the web AIM and still no fucking luck.

I need to talk about Heroes, dammit =\

Why am I cursed?

New, old journal

I created this journal a couple years ago, when I was working on this chocolate milk challenge icon for steev. I needed a place to test it out and didn't want to fuck with the limited number of user pics you could have back then. lately i've seen some really keen communities (like abanonded places, which bob linked recently) that i wanted to join and kel didn't... so I got my own space that I can clutter up with as much junk as I want =D I know I don't post often, but i read *everything* so please add me to your friends lists =)
